Scan Documents to PDF With Your Camera
Turn paper into a clean PDF without a scanner or an app. Point your phone or webcam at a page and PDFSpark outlines it live, then straightens it, whitens the paper and darkens the text. Capture as many pages as you need, fix any corner by dragging it, and save them all in one PDF. The camera feed and your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Your file is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Most online tools send your document to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Scan to PDF: frequently asked questions
How do I scan a document to PDF with my phone?
Open PDFSpark's Scan to PDF in your phone's browser and tap Scan with camera. Allow the camera, lay the page flat in good light and capture it when the orange outline sits on the page. Repeat for every page, tap Done, then Create PDF. There's no app to install.
Are my scans uploaded anywhere?
No. The camera picture, the edge detection, the clean-up and the PDF are all handled by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, which makes it safe for IDs, contracts and medical letters.
What if the edges of the page aren't found?
Edge detection works best with the page on a darker or contrasting surface, all four corners in the picture and no strong shadows. If it misses, the whole photo is kept and you can tap the page to drag each corner onto the paper's corners yourself, with a finger, mouse or the arrow keys.
Which look should I choose?
Auto whitens the paper and sharpens the text while keeping colour, which suits most documents. Grayscale drops colour for smaller files. Black & white gives the crispest text and the smallest PDFs for typed pages. Original keeps the photo's colours exactly as taken.
Can I make the scanned PDF searchable?
Yes, with PDFSpark Pro. Tick Make the text searchable and choose the language: each page is read with OCR and an invisible text layer is added, so you can search, select and copy the words. On the free plan, each page is saved as a picture of the paper without a text layer.
Can I use photos I already took?
Yes. Drop JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP photos into the box or pick them from your gallery. Each one gets the same edge detection and clean-up as a camera capture. HEIC photos from an iPhone are usually converted to JPG by the photo picker; if not, export them as JPG first.
Does it work on a laptop webcam?
Yes. Any camera your browser can use works, including laptop and USB webcams. Hold the page steady in front of the camera, ideally against a dark background, and capture. Webcams have lower resolution than phones, so choose High quality only if the camera is sharp.
