How do I add a watermark to a PDF without Acrobat?

Can I add an image or logo watermark?
Not at the moment. PDFSpark's watermark tool adds text, which covers most needs such as DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, SAMPLE or a company name. You control the font size, color, transparency and angle, so a light diagonal text watermark can work well as a subtle brand mark.
Can a PDF watermark be removed?
PDFSpark writes the watermark into each page's content, so it isn't a separate layer that a viewer can simply switch off. Someone with a full PDF editor may still be able to edit or cover it, so treat a watermark as a clear label and deterrent rather than copy protection. For restricted access, use a password.
What opacity should I use for a watermark?
Between 20% and 40% usually works well: the text stays readable in the background without hiding the content underneath. For a bold DRAFT stamp you can go higher. The live preview shows how your chosen opacity, colour and angle look before you apply it.

Which characters can I use in a watermark?
Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation work everywhere. Characters the built-in PDF fonts can't draw, such as Chinese, Japanese or emoji, aren't supported yet, and the tool tells you before applying rather than printing question marks.
