How do I fill out a PDF form without Adobe Acrobat?
Open the form in PDFSpark's Fill PDF Forms tool. It detects the interactive fields and shows each one, so you can type answers, tick checkboxes and pick options, then save the completed form. It runs in your browser, so there's nothing to install and no upload.
Why doesn't PDFSpark find any fields in my form?
The PDF probably isn't a fillable form. Many forms are just flat pages or scans with lines to write on, so there are no interactive fields to detect. For those, use Edit PDF to type text onto the page at the right spot, or print the form and fill it in by hand.
Can I fill dropdowns and radio buttons?
Yes. Dropdowns appear as a list to pick from, radio groups as radio buttons, and multi-select lists as checkboxes, so you choose from the options the form defines. Multi-line fields get a larger text box.
Is it safe to fill in forms with personal information online?
With PDFSpark, your information never leaves your device: the form is read and filled in your browser, then saved to your downloads. Many online form fillers upload the document to their servers. That difference matters for forms containing Social Security numbers, bank details, medical history or signatures.
How do I stop others from changing my answers?
Choose to flatten the form before saving, or run the completed file through Flatten PDF. Flattening turns the fields into regular page content, so the answers can't be edited in a PDF reader anymore. Keep an unflattened copy too, in case you need to make changes later.
Does it work with XFA forms?
Not usually. Dynamic XFA forms, often produced by older Adobe LiveCycle tools, store their fields differently from standard PDF forms, and most tools outside Acrobat can't fill them. If your form shows a message asking you to open it in Adobe Reader, it's likely an XFA form.
