Why isn't drawing a black box the same as redacting?
A black rectangle drawn over text only hides it visually. The text is still in the file, so anyone can copy it, search for it or remove the box in an editor. Proper redaction deletes the content underneath. PDFSpark turns each page you redact into an image with the boxes burned in, so the hidden information is no longer in the file.
How do I redact a PDF without Acrobat Pro?

How can I check that a redaction worked?

What does redact mean in a PDF?

Why can't I select text on redacted pages?
