Compress Many PDFs in One Go

When a whole set of scans, invoices or reports is too big to email or upload, compressing them one by one takes ages. Batch PDF runs the same compression on every file in turn and keeps a running list, so you can download each PDF or all of them as a ZIP. A file that can't get any smaller keeps its original size, and nothing ever leaves your device.

Your file is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Most online tools send your document to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Why use Compress Multiple PDFs

  • Ten actions: compress, watermark, page numbers, rotate, grayscale, resize, protect, unlock, remove metadata and flatten

  • A file that fails is listed with the reason, and the rest still finish
  • Processed on your device, never uploaded

Compress Multiple PDFs: frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I compress at once?

Up to 50 per batch. They're compressed one after another in your browser, with a list showing each file's old and new size. For more, start another batch when the first one finishes.

Which compression level should I pick?

Balanced suits most files: it re-compresses photos and scans at screen resolution while text, links and form fields stay as they were. Lossless only tidies the file structure, and Strong turns pages into images for the smallest size, at the cost of selectable text.

What if a PDF doesn't get smaller?

Some PDFs are already well optimized. When the compressed copy would be the same size or larger, the original is kept and marked in the list, so you never end up with a bigger file.

Can I compress password-protected PDFs?

Protected PDFs are listed with an error and skipped. Run a batch with the Unlock action first (you'll need the password for files that ask for one), then compress the unlocked copies.

Is batch compression free?

Batch PDF is part of PDFSpark Pro, along with every other tool and no daily limit. The single-file Compress tool is free, 3 operations a day, without an account.
