Watermark Multiple PDFs: frequently asked questions
Can each PDF get a different watermark?
A batch applies one watermark text to every file. For a single document with a different text, colour or position, use the Watermark tool, which also shows a live preview.
Will the watermark hide my text?
The watermark is semi-transparent grey, so the content underneath stays readable. Choose Light for a subtle mark or Strong when it must stand out, and Tiled to repeat it across the whole page.
Can someone remove the watermark?
It's drawn into each page's content rather than added as a comment, so it can't simply be switched off, although PDF editing software can still change it. To stop edits, protect the watermarked PDFs with a password in a second batch.
Which characters can I use?
Letters, numbers and punctuation from Western European languages. Emoji and non-Latin scripts can't be drawn with the built-in PDF font, and the files will show an error if they're used.
