Resize a PDF to US Letter

Documents from Europe, Australia and most of the world use A4, which prints with clipped edges or odd margins on US Letter paper. Letter is already selected: choose whether to scale the content to fit or keep its size, add a margin if you like, and download a PDF that prints cleanly on 8.5 × 11 inch paper.

Your file is processed by your own browser and never uploaded. Most online tools send your document to their servers and delete it later — this one never receives it at all.

Resize PDF to Letter: frequently asked questions

Why does an A4 PDF print badly on Letter paper?

A4 is slightly taller and narrower than Letter, so printers either shrink it unevenly or cut off the edges. Resizing the pages to Letter first gives predictable margins.

Will my content be stretched?

No. It's scaled evenly to fit the Letter page, so proportions stay the same; the difference in shape shows up as a little extra margin.

Can I resize to Legal instead?

Yes. Pick Legal, A3, A5 or a custom size in millimetres or inches on the same page.

Do links and form fields survive?

Yes. Text stays selectable, and links, bookmarks and form fields move with the content.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The pages are resized in your browser, so the document stays on your device.
